Loved my ride over at Club Wake yesterday. The sun was out, the wind was up (but didn’t affect the lake because its so sheltered) and the park was shred ready – all you need for a good time. I was putting in some time on the lovely roof top, and also their long flat bar. I want to be in the flat bar club – I want to dominate that flat bar by the end of the summer, at the moment, its kinda dominating me.
Like most, I don’t have all the time in the world to get on the water. My schedule is pretty rammed, especially in the summer.
Monday to Friday I’m a full time mum which means baby classes, swimming classes, play dates… not to mention house cleaning (and constant toy tidying), washing, food shops and preparing dinners. Somewhere in there I work as well. I work from home, mostly during nap time (Ethan’s; def not mine just to clarify) but emails/calls always have a tendency to come through at the most inconvenient times, such as having a stand off during meal times, trying to rush out the door, or during nappy changing or bath times, but hey ho.
On weekends, Jon’s around to help out with parenting responsibilities while I’m coaching and / or hosting Ladies Mornings or Kids Clubs. I’m redecorating the entire house: two rooms down! I’m also doing my Level 3 Wakeboard Coaching Qualification. So things are pretty busy to say the least. But who isn’t busy these days, right?
So where do I fit in my water time? Don’t worry, I’ve been racking up my hours. I’ve been riding up to four times a week which is incredible – so no matter how busy you are, theres always a cheeky half hour for a few laps…
This Saturday I held my first Ladies Morning of the season! We had thirteen girls in total of all abilities. Some on kneeboards, some learning to wakeboard for the first time and others wanting to brush up their rail riding. Because it was the first ever Ladies Morning held at Fest Wake it was great to see so many ladies make the effort. The morning was followed with a Nalu Beads workshop, just for a bit of extra girly fun! Big thanks to Fest Wake for hosting, to WaterSports World and especially to all the awesome ladies who got involved!! xx
Unfortunately after lunch the wind picked up so much that the Big Air event had to be postponed – the Mystic Bigger Air will be held at Fest Wake on the 21st June!
