About Town

Small waves plus a baby equals doing other stuff, like not laying on the beach.  We ambled around the cobbled streets of Peniche instead of sunning ourselves.  We took a stroll to the lighthouse that backs Molhe Leste, had waffles and coffees, bought cold water surf wax (its not even that cold here) and generally just took in the sights.  We did however get a couple of fun surfs in.  My evening sesh was at the reef which I’ve not surfed for a while, a bit scary without my wingman but I got my three waves and did one; a hot bath and a pint were calling my name.  Bigger swell is imminent.

Surf | Check

Yesterdays surf was a fun one; certainly not a big one.  This is a good thing, if it happened to be pumping we wouldn’t be ready for it.   We’d basically not score anything legit, probably just flounder around on the shoulder trying to pick up some cast offs. Next week is supposed to be bigger, but this week we’re putting in the hours in the little stuff.

Bad news about the magic stick… I caught a fin ever so slightly and the fin ripped / snapped out of the plugs.  Thankfully we have a back up board, its for bigger waves but we’re getting it done.

H E R E

We are finally here!!  After a 40min delay (on the plane), an hour wait for our oversized baggage and a 30min wait while they faffed with the hire car we made it just in time to spend the arvo on the beach.  We even got an hours worth of surfing each too.  Ethan liked the beach, he particularly liked playing with rocks 🙂
